The numbers are calculated in your browser from fresh source candles.

“CAGR” is the average yearly price growth over 10 years (over 5 or 3 years if the history is shorter). Drawdown is the worst over the whole history of the series. Regime is the rule of the 10-month average and the one-year change. Without dividends unless stated otherwise. The candles load in your browser straight from the source: exchange terms do not allow their quotes to be redistributed from another server.

How it works

  • The main venue is HOSE in Ho Chi Minh City; trading runs from 9:00 to 14:45 with a break, settlement is T+2, and the daily price limit is ±7%.
  • The new KRX trading system has been running on the Ho Chi Minh City exchange since May 2025.
  • Most of the turnover comes from retail investors; the tax is 0.1% of the amount of each sale.

What is happening

  • FTSE Russell is moving Vietnam to “Secondary Emerging” market status from 21 September 2026, in stages through September 2027.
  • In June 2026, MSCI did not add Vietnam to its list for a possible upgrade; the next review is in June 2027.
  • The economy: GDP growth of 8.02% in 2025 and 9.95% in Q3 2026.

Risks

  • Foreign investors were net sellers in October 2026.
  • Real estate and banks make up a large part of the index.
  • The VN-Index has lost as much as 45% (2020).

Prices in the data

  • Stock prices are in thousands of dong, adjusted by the source for corporate actions (stock dividends and splits), so old prices may differ from historical quotes.
